A lot of new buildings are rising around Oldenburg's old harbour and along the river Hunte at the Havekant development. Opening the footpath on the eastern side of this rolling bascule railway bridge would create a short cut for cyclists between the railway station and the Glashütte quarter and build the coolest "Flaniermeile" in northwest Germany.
