It is not possible to walk or cycle safely along any section of this road. Permissive bridleways alongside this route would be of massive benefit

Rat Run between Wootton Road and Gayton Road/schools. Close Field Lane to through motor traffic at junction with New Road.

Used as a rat run even though it is a main school/village route. Close to motor traffic between Nursery Lane and Bramble Drive.

Open St James St to two-way cycling.

Remove traffic from Lansdowne/Birchwood/George St by closing road here for motor traffic (plenty of space for turning head).

Fast traffic and narrow pavements make it unpleasant and dangerous to walk along here. Close the road, at the junction with Chapel Street, to motor traffic.

Lots of cars parking on pavements pushing people to walk in the street. Redesign street to create a community or living street.

Cyclists and walkers have great difficulties in crossing from The Walks to the opposite side of road as very busy road and often Traffic stands still at the railway crossing.

Bus stop, blocks view of road, dangerous to pull out of junction

The Spenser Road crossing is a major point of conflict with car drivers not respecting cyclists priority. Visibility is poor. It is a rat run and could be closed with little detrimental effect as there are many other routes into the area. … [more]

Make more space for walking and cycling throughout several neighbouring settlements by closing the cut bridge inbound and making motorists use the A roads which were built for them at huge expense.

The huge number of cyclists and pedestrians now using this busy crossing means that motor traffic is now a major hazard to both. Close thr road to motor traffic so cyclists can use the roadway and give pedestrians more space.
